Our Story

Our old family recipes have been handed down from our grandparents, and we carry on the tradition!

At Katz’s Deli and Corned Beef Emporium, we don’t serve food that comes from a box. We are passionate about serving fresh food, made from scratch, prepared right here on the premises. All of our products are made with love using the finest ingredients.

We first opened our doors in 1970, with a 36-seat restaurant, located across the street from our current location.  We now work in a beautiful, unique, award-winning 300-seat restaurant. The local community has been incredibly supportive and has grown around us. After being in business for more than 46 years and four generations strong, Katz’s Deli is a Toronto institution!

We strive for food perfection – it’s a way of life for all of us at Katz’s Deli.

Our world famous meats are marinated and smoked in-house, and we sell over 100,000 lbs of beef every year. We offer everything an authentic Deli should: Corned Beef, Pastrami, Smoked Meat, Roast Beef, Smoked Turkey Breast, All-Beef Salami, Hot Dogs, and don’t forget our delicious Beef Tongue…it speaks for itself!

Our delectable desserts are also made in-house – our famous Cherry Cheesecake will melt in your mouth. Our delicious custom-made Deli Trays range in size from 10 – 10,000 people.

We keep close to home, only using Canadian beef, and our sensational dill pickles are hand-packed on-site from fresh Ontario cucumbers. Interesting fact… We produce over 7000 lbs of pickles every year!
